CFG Critique: Choose Love: Period 1

Step 1: Get together in your CFGs and pull up the Choose Love images you made this week.

Step 2: Each person should be able to answer these questions about each photo in your CFG. Write down the group’s thinking on each of these questions for each of your photos. Post the answers in a google doc and turn it into Google Classroom. Critiques are due on Tuesday.

1.Does the photo feature the theme of ‘Choose Love’ in any way shape, or form? Can you clearly see what the image is trying to say? Are there spots the photographer could improve upon? Does the photo demonstrate thinking outside the box? Is the focus appropriate for the subject of the photo? Was Photoshop used appropriately to adjust the levels in the photograph?

2. What could be done to improve the overall quality of these images?

Each person turn in a copy of their group’s answers to the above questions.

For this week’s photo challenge, you will create an animated gif. Several frames of an image to create an animation. The photo challenge will utilize the timeline feature of Photoshop. The tutorial below gives you step by step instructions on how to animate an image.

Work flow for this assignment:

1. Take a photo that has an element that you could animate. It could be clouds in the sky, it could be the direction light hits a subject.Take several photos with different lighting with the subject still stood in the same place. USE A TRIPOD.

2. Bring your photo(s) into Adobe Photoshop.

3. Go to Window/Timeline and choose frame animation.

4. Change one aspect of the photo and repeat it to get an effect similar to the one above.
