  1. How many of these lighting set ups look like something you would want to duplicate?
I would use 5 of them. I like the splits with one soft box on the side of the models face along with the portraits that have a light behind the model.

  2. How many of these lighting set ups look like something you would want to duplicate?

I would want to try 4 of them.
    Split or Split/Broad
    Butterfly
    Colored Gels
    Loop with a background light

  3. I really want to try using Colored Gels, because using red lighting would be interesting to use. It also seems to be a lot more common nowadays. I would also use Split/Short, because it looks really dramatic and I think it could convey some emotion if used correctly. I would also use Rembrandt with a Honeycomb, because I’ve used it before and it’s a really pretty and effective lighting technique.

  4. I would say almost all of them would be something I would like to use because all techniques can show different sides of the person and tells a new story in every angle.

  5. I would want to try and duplicate a few of these lighting set ups. For example i would possibly do the split, the loop, and the butterfly. Those are a few i might want to duplicate, I’m not sure about the rest of them

  6. Split/broad is cool because it creates a sense of mystery by obscuring half the face with shadows. However, the lit up side is shown completely and the obscured face isn’t so it’s more subtle and less gratuitous.

Loop creates a sense of darkness without having to obscure anything. The left side of the face has shadows that create the effect, however, everything is still seen. The effect isn’t as strong, but more is shown.

Butterfly creates a sense of tension by having a strong contrast between the face and forehead (lit up) and everything else (shadow).

  7. 4 lighting set ups that i saw caught my attention and would like to try out because of the area of lighting hitting the face makes it really draw the eye.

  8. I would want to duplicate about 7 of those lighting pictures, mostly because they are interesting and i haven’t tried them before. But also because it gives a different mood or meaning to the picture

  9. I would like to try, Split/broad, Loop, Flat Light, and Butterfly. I would like to try these because it really focuses on the face and each type demonstrates a different kind of feeling.

  10. How many of these lighting set ups look like something you would want to duplicate?

I would really like to try a loop with a background light and butterfly.

  11. I would really want to try Colored Gels because it looks the most vibrant and fun and that’s what i really look for in my photo’s. It’s really unique and special out of all of those different techniques and i feel that one would be the most fun as well.

  12. i would love to try badger, split, and split short. mostly because it seems more mysterious and ive never really tried to control lighting with a lamp

  13. I find split really cool and I don’t see it very often, and I would like to somehow use it. I also like rembrandt with honeycomb, its very unique. I love the colored gels. And finally the split/short because it leaves much to the imagination.

  14. There are 9 lighting setups I would choose
    rembrandt with a softbox
    rembrandt through a prolly
    rembrandt short
    rembrandt broad
key with a far away softbox
    loop
    butterfly
    flat light
    clamshell

  15. I would love to try all of them, slowly.
    Right now, I would love to work with;
    split/short
key with a far away soft box
    colored gels
    key and fill

  16. i really like how the colored gels is because it hits the face with two different colors and gives an effect to the face. And also makes the face look interesting and more fun to look at.

  17. 4 lighting set ups I would want to try are split/short , colored gels , butterfly and split because the lighting for each photo brings the viewers eye right to the main point of the photo.

  18. How many of these lighting set ups look like something you would want to duplicate?
I would want to duplicate these three lighting set ups:
    Coloured Gels, Badger, and Split.

  19. Some set ups I’d use would be split/short, coloured gels, split, and butterfly. because they look like something that will catch other peoples eye.

  20. i like the split/short because it looks cool and fun to do and the effect on it looks good and i like how it splits into two one slide showing youre face and one not showing youre face and i like how it makes a shadow on youre face i also like the loop

  21. i would like to try split/short because it has a unique effect. I like how the shadow looks.I also like rembrandt short and split.

  22. I would like to duplicate 5 of the lighting techniques that were shown in these photos. I would like to duplicate the split with fill technique and how you are able to only have the light on one side of the model. I also like the key with a faraway softbox, I like it because it makes the shadows darker than what they normally would do. I really like the split/short technique, I like how only one side of the face is lit while the rest of the face is a shadow, it reminds me of the moon and how it has a dark and a light side. Another one I like is the high key one because of the white background and it shows the model completely. The last one I really like is the hard key with kickers, I really like it because it’s not too light but also not too dark, it’s a perfect mixture of them both.
