Today’s Warm Up: No Monuments While Traveling by Mario Pucic

Visually what do you notice in these images that are the same in each photo? What is Pucic trying to say about the world with these photos? What theme is consistent throughout the five photos? What ideas does this photo series contain? What ideas do you get for your own work, for your own photo series?

Step 1: Get together in your CFGs and pull up the Choose Love images you made this week.

Step 2: Each person should be able to answer these questions about each photo in your CFG. Write down the group’s thinking on each of these questions for each of your photos. Post the answers in a google doc and turn it into Google Classroom. Critiques are due on Tuesday.

1.How well does the photograph show motion with their animated gif? Does the animation appear smooth, or is it choppy? Does it loop? Does the animation tell some sort of story? Can you clearly see what the image is trying to say? Are there spots the photographer could improve upon? Does the photo demonstrate thinking outside the box? Is the focus appropriate for the subject of the photo? Was Photoshop used appropriately to adjust the levels in the photographs that make up the animation?

2. What could be done to improve the overall quality of this animation?

Each person turn in a copy of their group’s answers to the above questions.
