One word that could be used to describe her work is “moody”. She has lots of mood in her photos. Her photos are also very naturalist and human, both in terms of our bodies and emotions. I feel like she isn’t afraid of doing composite stuff, and uses the technique here. The more emotional ones resonate me because of their darker mood. Any photos featuring darker emotions resonate with me because I am very in touch with my own negative emotions. These photos not just make me want to make more portraits, but to explore more emotions in them, with the emotions being the centerpiece.
Very mysterious. She changes lighting, and where the subjects are looking. Some are looking right at the camera and some looking away. The photos make me feel like, just because i’m a girl doesn’t mean i can’t do anything. I get the idea of shooting more photos of how i feel and what’s going on in the world such as poverty, racism, and genders or cultures who think they’re more dominant because all these things still exist in our country.
