THISWEEK’S PHOTO CHALLENGE: DOUBLE EXPOSURE

Photo credits: Sierra Sullivan, Daisha Martin, Camper Ruybal, Keirstyn Obermiller,Francisco Lizama.

For this week’s photo challenge, you will take two pictures that have something to say about the other. See above. Notice how the architecture could represent the beauty that is inside of her mind, or possibly of her upbringing, or her culture, or possibly all three.

Use the tutorial, I showed, here, for specific instructions on how you want to make this happen in Photoshop.

DO A BIT OF PRE-PLANNING! Don’t just throw two random images together, the results just won’t be as good.

Have something to say about the person you are double exposing with another object/person. Do it for a reason. Everything has a reason, everything has a purpose.

  1. I could probably take a photo of a basketball with a with a hoop in the background and then take a self portrait of me thinking and the basketball photo will be shown on the head part of me.

Another idea might be to take a self portrait and add a nature photo into it.

  2. – Black and white with city background on the face
    – Flowers background on the face/back
    – My hands up with any background image I might have like the sky or nature.

  3. I was thinking of laying something I painted/drew over my face looking straight at the camera. Also maybe a photo of my camera layered so the lens looks like its over one of my eyes. And finally my art supplies thrown about over my silhouette with the extra space around the photo blacked out.
