  1. Ovtavious is trying to say that America is reaching a boiling point with all the cultural (ect.) conflict, thus the thermometer. I think he wanted to simply portray a street in Chicago and he ended up choosing the cul-de-sac because of it’s thermometer look. Art can both show what political conflict looks like as well as have political messages itself. That said, I have never done this myself, as I like to tackle more personal and nature-y type stuff, other than the odd attempt at poetry. That said, I believe that we can be too conformist (so edgy) and I am willing to incorporate that into my art.

  2. Octavious was trying to show how violence is very high right now. The thermometer like shape in the streets made him think of the image because the “boiling point is at an all time high”. Art comes in many forms, not just a pencil drawing. No I haven’t but looking at this photo and knowing what is happening in this country I don’t see why I shouldn’t. I strongly believe all people are equal and no race is better than the other and that knowing what happened to my people I wouldn’t want the same thing to happen ever again because we had to fight for our freedom and many great leaders, men, women, even children died.
