He manipulates the colors to make a human face become more pronounced. He’s trying to show how similar or closely related the whole world is by showing the human like features in everyday bugs. It allows him the show how the smallest of bugs in the world are still relatable to mankind. Make photography relate to you or something.
Goet faded out certain parts of the insects and made others look more pronounced to look more like human faces. He also had the photos generally be top-down showing the backsides of the insects and the patterns that can resemble faces.
I think he is trying to portray the insects as living beings just like us by putting our faces on them.
By doing macro photography, it puts the aforementioned metaphor on the smallest things, making it even more effective.
The idea this gives me for my own work is to do similar profile shots with the subject and a black background, similar in composition only with other things, including actual faces.
By the image in the picture looks, it could be just a sculpture that he made out of clay and he made it look like a completely different image.Which the way that some images look, it looks like its a face and the other one looks like organs inside a body.
Monday 9/12 Warm up
When Pascal Goet made the insects look like humans faces, what he did was make slight changes and highlighted some of their appearances. He did not alter any of the colors, just made some of them more pronounced. In his work, I think he is trying to show how these insects can almost be described as masks, like when human beings look at these, then it will be like they can look at it and see themselves using it to hide themselves. I would like to use this in some of my own work, using a different object and when I enhance some of the colors then it can actually look like a face.
The angles he chose to look at the bug and the sides are symmetrical. They look the same on both sides. He also doesn’t edit the colors on the bugs.
He said the large size prints create a genuine encounter between the viewer and these amazing personages, people of a parallel world
Create balance in my photos
Pascal Goet was able to transform bugs into subtle shapes that resemble human faces by letting areas of the body fade away or become more pronounced by using subtle changes in light and shadow.
By doing this Goet shows the relationship between insects and humans. Macro photography lends itself to this sort of study because we can get up close and personal with the insect which is something that can be difficult in real life.
This gives me the idea to use bright colors against a simple background and to get up close.
How was Pascal Goet able to transform bugs into subtle shapes that resemble human faces? He would use the patterns and colors that were on the bugs.
What is Goet trying to say by doing this? How does macro photography lend itself to this sort of study? To look at photos for a different point of view, because you could be able to see different things in the picture.
You can see the color and shape into what the human face is like. For example the eyes were a different color from what the nose would be. By doing this he showed the relationship between insects and human beings. Also to be up close and personal and how an insect can be different. This gives me an idea to use color in my pictures.
look it just looks like a bunch of bugs im in no mood for this today
How was Pascal Goet able to transform bugs into subtle shapes that resemble human faces?
I think its because he used a portrait point of view and had a black background, the overall shape is face like
What is Goet trying to say by doing this? How does macro photography lend itself to this sort of study?
because it shows high detail and similarities between certain things.
What ideas do you get in this for your own work? i like the close up with the black background i think that would be cool in one of my photos.
How was Pascal Goet able to transform bugs into subtle shapes that resemble human faces?
He used light and shadow changes. He also likes to fade away parts of the insects body.
What is Goet trying to say by doing this? How does macro photography lend itself to this sort of study?
I believe he’s trying to make authentic things.
What ideas do you get in this for your own work?
Changing the color of pictures, playing around with the settings to create a photo like his.
How was Pascal Goet able to transform bugs into subtle shapes that resemble human faces?
-The angles Pascal picked to look at the bug and the sides are symmetrical. Pascal also made them all look the same on both sides.
What is Goet trying to say by doing this? How does macro photography lend itself to this sort of study?
Pascal said “the large size prints make a genuine encounter between the viewer and these amazing personages, people of a parallel world”
What ideas do you get in this for your own work?
This doesn’t really give me any ideas to be honest.
He was able to transform bugs to look like human masks by highlighting certain areas, putting more focus on others and blurring faces and legs out of the picture to only get their shell. People of a parallel world are seen in these images. Focus on vibrant colors in a dark atmosphere
By using their colours and the patterns on them in the same place as humans?
I don’t know. To see the bugs up close and how they are close to humans.
Using odd and unexpected things for pictures.

He made sure that there was like the same common points of interest that there would be on a human face, like a spot or shape to kinda represent some eyes a nose and a mouth. each side of the image or bug kinda mirror image eachother.
How was Pascal Goet able to transform bugs into subtle shapes that resemble human faces?
He was able to resemble human faces by using symmetry and different angels
He reinforces the habit we humans have of giving every object a personality and humanizing them.
This inspires me to give viewers a look into my perspective of things as a whole
Pascal Goet was able to transform bugs into subtle shapes that resemble human faces by emphasizing the main aspects of a human face, like the eyes, nose, and mouth. Goet was trying to say by doing this that humans are just as unique and valuable as humans, and also getting the human mind to recognize patterns in the exoskeleton. Macro photography lends itself to this sort of study because you can vibrantly photograph the patterns in the exoskeleton. This inspires me to take more up close photos and to notice the patterns is everyday objects.
How was Pascal Goet able to transform bugs into subtle shapes that resemble human faces?
– He took them at an angle to make the bugs appear like human faces using subtle changes in light and shadow.
What is Goet trying to say by doing this? How does macro photography lend itself to this sort of study?
– I think he’s trying to say that it’s all about perspective where you can see different things at a different angle.
What ideas do you get in this for your own work?
– Idea I got for my own work is trying to take a photo of something at a different angle to see what it will look like.
He picked the side that had some sort of human face design in it and then used the light to make more clear the design on it.
He manipulated the colors, light and position so It looks like a mask.

2.What Goet trying to say by doing this is maybe to show how alike we are to bugs.
3. none
what he did to make human faces appear is make subtle changes in light and shadow. He also manipulates the details of the verity of insects. Goet is trying to say that this is very important for his involvement in his work. sometimes you can use objects that are very usual and boring can become something unique.

Macro photography lends itself to this sort of study because we can get up close and personal with the insect which is something that can be difficult in real life.it will help me to lean how to use colors like this
Pascal Goet was able to transform bugs into subtle shapes that resemble human faces by focusing on letting areas of the body fade away or to become more pronounced.
What Goet is trying to say by doing this is that by bringing a reflection of a human and combining it with an everyday bug can end up being an amazing photo. Macro photography lend itself to this sort of study by getting up close with the bugs. The ideas i got for my own work is to think more outside the box because you’ll never know how it’ll actually come out until you actually try it.
