After viewing the photos contained in the link above, answer the following questions using complete sentences.
How can you tell these images are long exposures? How would these photos look if they weren’t long exposures? What sorts of moods are present in these images? How could you incorporate any of these ideas into your own slow shutter photography?
How can you tell these images are long exposures? because the lights are super bright and are like streams of light. How would these photos look if they weren’t long exposures? less bright and there wouldn’t be streams of light. What sorts of moods are present in these images? very relaxing moods. How could you incorporate any of these ideas into your own slow shutter photography? use more long exposures and maybe use a flash light and wave it around the photo creating similar features.
I can tell these photos are long exposure photos because when you do light painting and time lapse photos you have to set the camera to long exposures. They all seem jurassic because of all the forest fires. I can use these techniques by using them if I want to capture the lights in a certain way.
How can you tell these images are long exposures? How would these photos look if they weren’t long exposures? What sorts of moods are present in these images? How could you incorporate any of these ideas into your own slow shutter photography?
The way I can tell that it is a long exposure is that the movement that was going on in the picture was captured and how the full movement was captured as well. The photos would look like they were just in one place and staying still like any other picture. The mood that these photo’s give you are giving a devastation vibe once you see them.
you can tell they are long exposures because on some of the pictures have streaks of light that can only be achieved by a long exposure time
You can tell these are long exposure because it captures movement and are bright pictures taken at night, the lo0ng exposure enables the camera to capture things like stars and the helicopter circling above. If they werent long exposures the only thing that would be bright would be the fire, everything else would be dark. I can incorporate these ideas into my own photography by using slow shutter speed to capture more in the dark.
How can you tell these images are long exposures? How would these photos look if they weren’t long exposures? What sorts of moods are present in these images? How could you incorporate any of these ideas into your own slow shutter photography?
These images are long exposures because the lights flow throughout the image. They have trails. If these photos weren’t long exposures, they would probably be a lot darker and the lights wouldn’t have the same feel. These images create a bright/intense but also a soft mood.
I could incorporate these idea in my own slow shutter photography by a. using fire or b. using the background to complement the lights.

I can tell that these images are long exposure because there are spark trails, light trails from the helicopters and the stars. If these photos were not long exposure they would not be as interesting because the viewer would not see how the fire and helicopter moves. The images give off a powerful and chaotic mood. I could incorporate these ideas into my own slow shutter photography by using bright contrasting colors like this photographer did and by doing light painting.
By looking at these images I can tell they are long exposure because you can see that the light isn’t just in one place but moves along through out time. Without long exposure the images would look very blurry and not clear. This can really help my images with adding more feeling to the images
I can tell that the photos have long exposure because the light inst in just one position but everywhere at once. The photos would look just like any other forest fire. Dark and scary because of the fires destroying everything in it’s path. I wanted to use fire as a subject matter to slow shutter speed or capture the fire as though it is stuck in time.
I can tell that a photos have long exposures because the light isn’t in just one position and you can also so the movement. If it wasn’t a long exposure then it would probably be unclear from the long exposure picture. The mood that these pictures produce is kind of sad and emotional cause a forest fire is something that can affect someones territory. I can use my phone light to create an image like one of the forest fires.
How you can tell is because the fire stands out a lot and is really bright. if it wasn’t long exposure then the things that stand out would be dark and not stand out as much. The mood would be like destruction and stuff. i can use this by making something stand out a lot like light or fire or something.
How can you tell these images are long exposures?
Because of the smooth texture and long lines of light.
How would these photos look if they weren’t long exposures?
They would look very sharp and bright flames
What sorts of moods are present in these images?
terrifying but exciting at the same time
How could you incorporate any of these ideas into your own slow shutter photography?
Maybe use a match and move it around in a dark room just to see the line of light it leaves.
How can you tell these images are long exposures?
By the way theres some and movement in each photo.
How would these photos look if they weren’t long exposures?
They would be a bit blurrier
What sorts of moods are present in these images?
Rage, anger, loss, deep
How could you incorporate any of these ideas into your own slow shutter photography?
By using slow shutter speed I could capture more emotion and feeling
How can you tell these images are long exposures? How would these photos look if they weren’t long exposures? What sorts of moods are present in these images? How could you incorporate any of these ideas into your own slow shutter photography?
These pictures are long exposures because the lights flow throughout the image. If these photos weren’t long exposures, they would probably be a lot darker and the lights wouldn’t have the same feel to them. These images create an intense but also a soft mood.
These photos could be long exposure photos because when you do time lapsing and time light painting photos you have to set the camera to long exposures. They all the forest fires. I can use these techniques by using them if I want to capture the lights in the right way.
these are long exposures i can tell because the lighting is so bright and its exposed for such a long time you can see the movement of the lighting if it wasnt as long of an exposure the picture would be a lot darker because its not letting in as much light
How can you tell these images are long exposures? How would these photos look if they weren’t long exposures? What sorts of moods are present in these images? How could you incorporate any of these ideas into your own slow shutter photography?
you can tell because of the light and how it has long streaks of light in the pictures. how would they look if they weren’t long? they would be brighter and the light streaks wouldn’t be the same
You can tell that these photos have long exposures due to brightness and streams of light and colors
I could use slow shutter speed to incorporate more color and liveliness into my photos
You can tell these photos are long exposure photos by the way the light emanates. The light is in different places with no source. Like the man on the top of the hill, his headlight points one way while at the same time it lights the opposite direction. If these photos weren’t long exposure photos they would likely be very dark and the fire would look very minuscule almost nonexistent. These photos have very lively and solemn moods. You could use long exposure to create a ghost, or to represent something that is missing.
because theirs more to the pictures than there’s supposed to be, if they were normal the trails of light and stuff wouldn’t be there. there’s a weird mood there, it makes destruction look cool
How can you tell these images are long exposures? you can tell its long exposures by how much light he took into the photo to get every single detail in focus. How would these photos look if they weren’t long exposures? The stars in the background would be blurry not in focus, and the light from the fire would be very bright and not as detailed. What sorts of moods are present in these images? Calm, Rage, and balance of happy and anger. How could you incorporate any of these ideas into your own slow shutter photography? Take a picture of fire blowing through the wind or have someone drink a liquid and blow on the fire to give it that fire ball effect.
The stretched light exposures. Single fire flares instead of stretched.I don’t really see a mood but it looks pretty damn cool. Moving or flickering lights or moving subjects.
How can you tell these images are long exposures? How would these photos look if they weren’t long exposures? What sorts of moods are present in these images? How could you incorporate any of these ideas into your own slow shutter photography?
Their is a lot of light coming from the fire. The photos would look darker if they didn’t have long exposures. The mood in these images are exciting and energetic
i can tell that it has a longer exposure than normal because there more light that gets in the picture .when you have a longer exposure , when you have short exposure not a lot of light would be in the picture because the short exposure doesn’t let a lot of light in the mood is little dark kinda of a theme in it but to where its still pretty looking because there so much light in it making the picture more bolder that was because exposure was longer timing
I can tell these images are long exposure because some of the shots of the stars. they are not just dots pinpointed in the sky but lines and that means the photographer captured the movement of the earth. the moods in this picture are a mix. there is a calm urgency. i could do a basic idea and go to bridge at night and do a long exposure shot of cars passing by or i could even go out into the wilderness myself and capture the stars. n
yes you can because the colors and streems of light and brightness
they would look boring
they just show that maybe they thought it would just look interesting
You can tell by the streaks and the light. If they weren’t long exposures it wouldn’t capture the light streaks. The mood in these photos are anger and deep. If you use slower shutter speed you can capture more emotion/ feeling.
you can tell they are long exposures because on the pictures they are doing light painting and you can only do that with long exposures.
-I can tell that these images are long exposures because I can see the flame trails in one of those images and the brightness of these images are really good.
-These photos would look just like a simple picture but darker that you won’t be able to tell much.
-I think the mood in these photos is really sad because it’s a wildfire pictures of the forest.
-I could use the fire to brighten up the images into my own slow shutter photography.
you can tell that this was a long exposure is because the movement was captured. it would look like a normal picture and it wouldn’t be a eye catching. There’s a lot of moods in the images like inspiring and energetic. Taking a picture with a lot movement and use slow shutter speed.
Because the movement that was captured in the pictures was all around where the fire went. The would look like a regular picture. There are two moods. One is happy and energetic and inspiring. Taking a picture with a lot of movement using slow shutter speed
.
i like the pictures a lot i like the details and how they make the picture pop out make you feel some type of way and i like how the fire makes it look real nice and its all around the woods and it could change your’e mood real quick
I can tell they are long exposure because I can see the way the smoke and fire travels through the air. Without this long exposure, the fire and stuff would look more normal and less magical and surreal.
The mood in the photos is very ominous. It is beautiful in appearance but we all know that what we are seeing is very destructive so it creates a very strange mood. The photos are very gorgeous but we all know we are admiring something very destructive. I could incorporate this into my own slow shutter photography by showing some kind of action or event that has some kind of weight, and showing it with a slow shutter to show that it is actively happening as opposed to a “screenshot” (if you will) of it happening.
How was Pascal Goet able to transform bugs into subtle shapes that resemble human faces?
He took his photos at another angle, facing down at the bug’s back
What is Goet trying to say by doing this? How does macro photography lend itself to this sort of study?
I think Hes kind of using a metaphor by saying look at life through other angles. WHat might seem ugly might turn out beautiful.
What ideas do you get in this for your own work?
Turning ugly into interestingly beautiful. Definitely take pictures at different angles
